Acer Aspire 3610 CPU Change

Written By: admin on August 12, 2010 25 Comments

The Aspire 3610 comes with a intel910gml chipset, this is normaly only for celeron M and didnt support higher FSB than 400mhz officially.I tryed to install a Pentium M 740 wich has a 533mhz FSB and it works great ;-) System is running stable with all Pentium M features like Speedstep :-) now its running 4,5 – 5 Hours with a 8cell Li-Ion Perfect !

Whoa, that’s crazy. On my Aspire 5920G, all I had to do was remove a bottom cover which led me directly to the heatsink.

@bogasni You can only change to a quad core if your laptop can handle the extra heat generated by one.

So can i put pentium m on my 3610? And can i overclock pentium? My celeron m 370 is now running 2110mhz and after 2130mhz it starts to crach because of some intel overclock protection thing. idk. But its possible? My bios version is 1.13. And what is the best cpu for this thing?

    Thanks all ready, :D

Could you give me like a example of a name of mainboard chipset? So i can look up . you said: but you can only use a mobile onw.<< what onw?

Whats ironic the 3100/5100 from the same company it’s four screws to get the cpu access cover off.
The ram and wireless are also under said cover you don’t have to disturb anything else.
Then 5 screws to get the heat pipe and fan.
I put a turion in one one and it took five minutes.
