acer aspire one review

Written By: admin on June 5, 2010 25 Comments

I DO NOT recommend the Acer aspire one as my Acer aspire one is now going in for repair for the second time the fan is dying after less than two months. the first repair required a new motherboard probably due to the fan that was making grinding noises and was unable to keep the netbook cool

I was actually very tempted to buy this netbook, and give my brother my Medion Akoya E1210. (That I’m using to type this comment with)

but after watching a few videos on here, it’s really put me off.

Sorry knowing you’re having problems with your ‘One’, mate.
Hope you get it sorted. :)

Oh, and I really enjoyed your upgrade videos.
Keep up the good work. :)

    Jay.

this day and age some form of active antivirus is pretty much required.

There is so many viruses Unless you are extremely careful on the Internet or are not going on the Internet I would say that antivirus is required.

Unfortunately the Internet has become a dangerous place for data theft/identity theft.

If you are running linux there are very few viruses for it but you can still become a victim of identity theft.

I am using AVG free edition it works well.

i got this type of laptop. and i must say that it is a very good product. it can run secondlife will low lag (depending on yoru conncection) and can run GTA vice city on high. but the keyboard has a learning curve. but its very reliable for small gaminig, art and school work

The review you made was better than the professionally made reviews i’ve seen on YouTube! My local electronics store just got one of these. Windows XP and 1 GB of RAM for $450.

You don’t have to install an AntiVirus in Linux, but i’m not sure about Yahoo for Linux.

This is my advice to you and everyone else reading this – just get Windows XP. The particular Linux distro included on the Aspire One is very limited compared to Windows.

I have a normal notebook which is always hooked up, has bad battery usage and too bulky. An ultraportant is perfect to just bring to uni and use only for Word and browsing.
